Update Your Skincare for Fall

fall colors

The leaves are turning colors, the days are getting shorter, and the air is getting cooler. It’s fall, ladies, which means it’s time to update your skincare routine.

Navigating this somewhat treacherous transition can be overwhelming, if you don’t have a plan. That’s why I’ve pulled together a few tips to help you ease into the new season and maintain your overall skincare goal-- healthy, radiant skin.

CLEANSE

In order to keep skin looking it's best it's important to get in the habit of washing it daily. This step is consistent year round so it is important to find a cleanser that's gentle but thorough in removing all traces of make-up and impurities. This is important because if not gentle enough, your skin might be left feeling tight and uncomfortable and it could even strip away valuable oils that keep your skin healthy.

In search of a gentle cleanser? Our Radiant Cleansing Balm dissolves eye and face makeup, clears congested pores and removes impurities. By using ingredients like Blackseed and Marula Oil, which leave skin balanced, soft and radiant, your skin is sure to look and feel better than ever, as well as be well prepped for future treatment.

EXFOLIATE

Next up is exfoliating. All those hours you spent basking in the sun this summer are back to bite you. It turns out, that as much as we all love that golden tan, our skin doesn’t particularly love it. Not to mention the dirt, sand, and grime that found their way into our pores over the summer months. To combat this unpleasant reality, exfoliation is key.

Of course, finding the right exfoliant is equally important if you want your skin to naturally radiate beauty and cleanliness. Our Dual Enzyme Polish uses microspheres to efficiently sloughs dull cells from the skin's surface, while at the same time deeply exfoliating with its fruit enzyme and AHA cocktail. It's important to not over exfoliate your skin, so we recommend exfoliating 1-2 times a week, as needed.

MOISTURIZE

The key for hydrated, glowing skin? Moisturizing. If you’ve placed a good deal of stress on it throughout the summer, like most of us have, then you need to reinvigorate your dead skin by using a powerful moisturizer. This is a critical time for your skin as the summer heat that you were exposed to and the cool, dry air that fall brings, can out skin leaving it exposed to the elements. Dry skin inevitably leads to clogged pores, breakouts, and even drier skin so using a moisturizer (and drinking plenty of water) to keep your skin hydrated is key.

Our Extreme Recovery Cream is the perfect moisturizer for this summer-fall transition. By providing intensive care for dehydrated skin the ingredients in this moisturizer strengthen the hydro-lipid barrier and provide maximum levels of continuous moisture.

PROTECT

Protecting your skin from the sun is a year round job, as too much exposure brings wrinkles earlier than necessary as well as makes your skin more prone to sun damage. Use an SPF of 15 or higher every morning to maintain your youthful glow.

Fall beauty begins and ends with skincare routine tailored to fit your unique needs. However, by starting with these three areas (cleansing, exfoliating, and moisturizing) you can achieve healthier skin and more confidence all throughout the fall season.

Great question, Yasmin! Regular exfoliation is important. I suggest using the Colleen Rothschild Radiant Cleansing Balm daily and use the Dual Enzyme Polish to sloughs dull cells from the skin’s surface 2-3 times a week. You’ll be looking radiant and perfectly polished in no time! :)

Would you recommend a exfoliating cleanser ? The one that I’m currently using is Suki exfoliating cleanser. It’s basically a sugar cleanser that while you’re working it into your skin dissolves into a foaming agent. P.S I just started using it.
